Managing Growth and Change the Webco Way

20140513_080005

Webco Manufacturing hosted KCMN’s May meeting at their new facility in Olathe, KS.  Mike Miller and his co-owners provided an overview of The Webco Way.  The Webco Way is a set of 31 guiding principles that is used daily to help the company continue to grow and improve.   As an employee-owned company, the leadership team was looking for a way to help all employees understand the concept of thinking like owners, and making decisions that benefited all involved.  The team looked at principles that they were practicing in their daily operations, and those that were best practices that they aspired to.  The result is the Webco Way.

Each week, a new principle is emphasized, discussed and shared – with employees, suppliers, and even customers.  This keeps everyone focused.  Mike noted that they are not perfect, but continue to improve.

20140513_085753The Webco Way has helped everyone to ‘step up their game’ as the company continues to grow and expand.    The meeting concluded with a tour of Webco’s state of the art facility.  Attendees commented that they were interested in developing their own ‘Webco Way’, and appreciated the Webco team’s willingness to share their best practices with their fellow manufacturers.
