Membership Benefits

KCMN was created to support manufacturers in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. KCMN events provide opportunities to meet, exchange ideas and share best practices with other manufacturers. Our focus is helping members connect, learn, grow. Memberships are organizational which means events are open to all employees of member companies. These events may include:

Members also have access to both public and private, state and local resources that specialize in serving the manufacturing community.

Memberships renew annually in your anniversary month. For more information or questions, please contact Spencer Monaco, Executive Director, execdir@wearekms.com, (913) 967-1250.

Monthly Meetings and Plant Tours

KCMN Members, Sponsors and Partners meet monthly to network and learn from each other. These meetings are topical presentations, panel discussions and/or plant tours at a local manufacturing facility.

Meetings are typically held the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except July and December) from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

7:00 a.m.-7:30 a.m. Open Networking and light, continental breakfast
7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. Meeting or Plant Tour

The input of our members, the Advisory Board and current events impacting manufacturers work together to determine meeting topics. Topics contribute to the growth and success of all areas of the organization including Operations, HR, Supply Chain, Technical Expertise, Leadership Development, Environmental Health and Safety, Compliance, etc. Our presenters are predominately manufacturers sharing their expertise and experience with other manufacturers. When the need arises for the depth of knowledge only a specialist can bring, we look first to our Sponsors and Partners who generously share their expertise.

Non-members who want to learn more are invited to join us for up to two monthly meetings prior to applying for membership. After your second visit, we ask that you refrain from further attendance until you complete your application.

Kansas City Manufacturing Network is a subsidiary of Kansas Manufacturing Solutions and partner of Missouri Enterprise, NIST Network Affiliates. We welcome all regional manufacturers to join us to learn from others, share best practices and get involved with the manufacturing community in the region.

Testimonials

  • Very informative speakers at the monthly events that are providing vital information on topics that are relevant to the needs of the local manufacturing community.

  • Excellent networking opportunity with local companies in a non-competitive environment to share best practices and help one another

  • Benchmarking opportunities with the plant tours on a local basis that allow us to send a broader group of people and gain a different perspective from other manufacturers

  • Relationships have led to additional interaction outside the KCMN like one-on-one benchmarking with member companies and participation in Kaizen events between member companies

  • KCMN is continually working to identify the needs of the membership to promote events that will meet the ever-changing needs of Greater Kansas City manufacturers.

“We are members of KCMN because it provides a great opportunity for our leaders to network and learn from other manufacturers in the Kansas City area. We enjoy the plant tours and monthly meetings for the cost effective educational opportunities they provide. Our leaders always walk away with practical solutions for our own facility. The relationships we have made with other network members have been invaluable for obtaining timely, effective advice when implementing new initiatives. No matter how different the operations, there are always common pitfalls or lessons learned that have ultimately saved us time and energy.”

“DIT-MCO has been a KCMN Member for over ten years  . . .   Beyond the normal monthly meetings and plant tours, DIT-MCO employees have taken advantage of opportunities to participate in various sub-groups, committees and especially, the Emerging Leaders programs.  The ‘full-company’ membership fee structure makes this a no-brainer!”
