At some point, all organizations must replace key leaders and managers. Those organizations who anticipate and plan for succession generally are more effective and achieve better results than those who simply react to changes and openings. Dan Bean, MA, MBA, Managing Partner of CMA, a St. Louis based consulting firm that is establishing a presence in KC will provide an effective leader to effective leader succession planning process.
Lisa Kist, SPHR and CXO of Robbie, will describe how they anticipate and manage the succession planning process at their organization. The presenters will also discuss talent review, assessments, transitioning responsibilities, onboarding and unifying the team behind a new leader.

Due to increased costs, we have had to raise our meeting fees effective with the September meeting. Rates have been the same since early 2008 and meeting fees are no longer covering the cost on a monthly basis. Cost is $20 for members and $30 for manufacturing company guests or $50 for non-manufacturing company guests. Guests may attend 2 meetings before having to join as a member. Dan Bean has helped hundreds of individuals and organizations of all types and sizes achieve their goals. Dan assists organizations with strategic planning, organizational development, talent management and executive development. He has a particular passion for working with family-owned businesses, especially during generational transitions. He draws upon over 30 years of consulting experience, 15 of which have been as Partner at CMA. Armed with two Master’s degrees—one in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Western Kentucky University and a second in Business Administration from University of Missouri – St. Louis—Dan explores key issues that drive organizational performance.
Lisa Kist is part of Robbie’s strategic planning team, helping continue to guide Robbie’s direction and growth. She provides leadership and direction to human resources and customer service and is responsible for ensuring positive interactions with Robbie internal and external customers. She has been a part of KCMN’s advisory board team since 2008, and provided key leadership in launching KCMN’s Workforce Best Practices Group, and continues to grow this group for the benefit of KCMN membership.
