Our Mission
The Kansas City Manufacturing Network provides educational and networking opportunities to strengthen the region’s manufacturers. Manufacturers can learn through real world experiences such as plant tours, presentations by local subject matter experts, and panel discussions sharing lessons learned from fellow manufacturing companies.
Our Organization
The Kansas City Manufacturing Network was established in 1993 and is sponsored by the Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center (MAMTC) and Missouri Enterprise. The direction of KCMN is set by an advisory board of members in collaboration with our sponsors.
Our Services
KCMN has developed resources to benefit its members by presenting:
Panel Discussions
These regularly scheduled meetings feature speakers, usually manufacturing company members, who can share their expertise, suggestions and lessons learned with their fellow manufacturers. These meetings provide opportunities for networking and establish a forum for problem solving that is unique for local manufacturers. Member companies have unlimited attendance privileges (space allowing).
Plant Tours
Companies that have a special grasp of a manufacturing technology or technique open their doors to our members to share their operations and experiences. Plant tour attendance is offered first to member companies, and is limited by the host plant. Tours are scheduled based on the availability of local manufacturers.
Lean Benchmarking Group
Scheduled quarterly, these explore the host company’s Lean journey in greater depth and provide an opportunity for attendees to share experiences and suggestions. This is a KCMN members-only group.
Website
A visit to kcmn.org answers inquiries about the Network, announces various events, provides registrations, and updates the membership on manufacturing news and information.
LinkedIn Discussion Group
A members-only forum to share questions, comments or relevant news with other manufacturing company members.
